Sexual Assault Reported At UT-Austin Campus
University police released details of the incident said to have taken place Friday afternoon, but didn't disclose location.

AUSTIN, TX — University of Texas at Austin campus police on Saturday continued to investigate a reported sexual assault on campus.
The incident is said to have taken place just before 4 p.m. on Friday, but university officials did not disclose the dormitory in which the sexual assault occurred. The victim told police the encounter began as consensual with a known acquaintance before crossing the edge into the non-consensual.
Police officials said they are investigating the allegations, and expect to release more details later.

In the meantime, UT police on Facebook issued the following guidance for students: "If you engage in sexual activity, be sure you understand your partner’s limits, and communicate your own limits clearly. Only engage in sexual activities when you have affirmative consent from your partner."

The incident is the second sexual assault reported on campus in less than one month. On April 18, a student reported being sexually assaulted at Bellmont Hall on the UT-Austin campus at 8:45 p.m. while using the bathroom by an unknown attacker. To date, police have not disclosed if the suspect has been apprehended.
