Shabbat Services in N. Austin
Join us for NACHAT Shabbat on Friday, December 18th as we build joyful Jewish community in Northern Austin. All are welcome!
We recognize that Friday comes after a long week and there are a variety of needs to be met. Everyone is welcome to any and all parts of Shabbat!
We begin with a family-friendly Shabbat service with songs and a story. We welcome Shabbat with our larger community with blessings and a vegetarian potluck, which often includes homemade challah along with a well-balanced offering of homemade food. We then transition into our Shabbat service with musical accompaniment by our davenning ensemble.
Our prayerbooks include Hebrew, transliteration and English to foster full participation. Several people stay after services for a short discussion of that week’s Torah portion, led by Rabbi Swedroe.
Friday, December 18th
6-6:30 p.m. – Family Shabbat Experience
6:30-7:15 p.m. – Vegetarian Potluck Dinner
7:15 p.m. – Musical Kabbalat Shabbat Services with the NACHAT Davenning Ensemble
