Smithsonian Institution Brings Traveling Exhibition To Austin
The Asian American Resource Center - City of Austin hosts exhibit to illustrate the role Indian Americans have played in shaping America.

AUSTIN, TX -- The Asian American Resource Center - City of Austin (AARC), in partnership with South Asian Austin Moms Nonprofit (SAAM), is proud to host Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation from Monday, Jan. 29 to Sunday, April 8.
This fascinating event will feature a collection of vibrant photographs, artifacts, art and interactive learning stations, where visitors will better understand the depth and scope of the Indian American experience and the role Indian Americans have played to shape America through this Smithsonian traveling exhibition. From their contributions to building the country's earliest railroads and farms, to Civil Rights pioneers and digital technology entrepreneurs, Indian Americans have contributed significantly to the development of our robust society.
Complementing the exhibit, SAAM will host eight docent and educational programming days:

Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation was created by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department, Museums and Cultural Programs Division is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute.
This exhibition is available for viewing throughout the AARC's normal operating hours from January 29th to April 8th. Additionally, the exhibit is available for viewing on the following Sundays:
Sunday Docent Programming Dates:
February 4th, March 11th, March 18th, March 25th, April 1st, April 8th.
AARC REGULAR OPERATING HOURS:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday: 9am-5pm
Wednesday and Thursdays, 9am-9pm
