St. David's Medical Center In Central Austin Names New CFO

Dan Huffine, a 20-years-plus veteran in the healthcare industry financial sector, replaces the recently retired Julie Perez.

AUSTIN, TX — St. David’s Medical Center has named Dan Huffine as its new chief financial officer, officials said Wednesday.

Huffine took the helm as CFO on Aug. 6, replacing the recently retired Julie Perez, according to a press advisory. In his new role, Huffine oversees the financial operations of St. David’s Medical Center, which includes the campuses of Heart Hospital of Austin and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, as well as St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital.

“Dan has a proven track record of responsible financial management in hospital operations,” Don Wilkerson, chief executive officer of St. David’s Medical Center, said. “I am confident he will make an excellent addition to the hospital's leadership team and will play a key role in the continued growth of St. David’s Medical Center.”

With more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector of the healthcare industry, Huffine most recently served as the chief financial officer of St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where he was instrumental in helping to secure funding for the bone marrow transplant program, the $58 million facility expansion currently underway and the future freestanding emergency center in Buda, officials said. He formerly spent six years as controller for the HCA Central and West Texas Division.

Huffine earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Accounting from Montana State University in Bozeman, as well as a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from Regis
