The Storehouse Food Pantry Closes After 13 Years Of Pflugerville Community Service
On their website and Facebook, co-founders confirm that lack of funding led them to shutter the pantry.
PFLUGERVILLE, TX — After more than a decade serving the least fortunate, The Storehouse food pantry has abruptly closed its doors due to lack of funding, its co-founders said in a prepared statement.
"It is with deep sadness that we close the doors to The Storehouse after 13 years of serving our community," Jack and Sandra Cochrun wrote in a posting on the faith-based pantry's website. "We have provided food for well over a half million people during that time, and every person had the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus Christ."
The food pantry had operated at 1202 FM 685, Ste. 4 before its closing.

" the couple wrote. "Thank to all who have supported this much needed work. Jesus said 'the poor you will have with you always.' "
The philanthropic couple added that Jack Cochrun Ministries, Inc. will remain in operation despite the pantry's closure. News of the pantry's shuttering also was confirmed via Facebook: "Sad to report," they wrote. "Thanks to our volunteers and staff. Thanks to all those who have supported us.We are grateful. The food pantry's closing was abrupt, with no prior indication that it would be shuttering. Just last week, pantry officials clarified their protocol in never asking for clients' Social Security numbers, requiring only a valid ID and proof of residence.
