Sushi Truck to Open Brick-and-Mortar Location in North Austin

Austin's only sushi food trailer is moving to an indoor location on Mueller Boulevard.

Austin’s only sushi trailer, Kyoten, located at 1211 E 6th St, is making the move to brick-and-mortar.

The sushi project of chef’s Otto Phan and Leo Rodriguez is looking for a new North Austin audience to feed their city-famous California and Philadelphia rolls, reported the Austin Chronicle. Kyoten’s new location at 4600 Mueller Blvd. will also be serving out wine and beer to its customers.

Phan and Rodriguez had worked in acclaimed sushi restaurants such as Bar Masa, Nobu and Sushi-a-go-go before setting out to establish Kyoten as a sushi hot spot in Austin.

The sushi trailer has earned glowing reviews for its focus on quality and sustainable ingredients. In fact “simple things done well,” is one of the core themes of the restaurant as stated on their website.
