Suspect In Custody Following String Of North Austin Armed Robberies

Willie Pierce, 27, is under police custody in connection to a string of robberies during which women were victimized.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — A suspect is in custody in connection to series of aggravated assaults of women in North Austin this month, police said Thursday.

Willie Pierce, 27, was in police custody following the string of armed robberies dating to March 13, according to a press release. However, police said no booking photo was available and no details would be immediately released, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

The arrest comes after a string of robberies during which several female victims were either approached by the suspect with a handgun or robbed at gunpoint at 1071 Clayton Lane. The Texas Department of Public Safety aided in the case by providing the services of a sketch artist who was able to discern the suspect's likeness n meeting with a victim.

Five different incidents occurred earlier this month on March 13, 20, two on the 22nd and another on the 23rd. The incidents occurred at various times in the morning, ranging from 6:26 a.m. to 10:21 a.m., according to police.
