Unattended Food On Stove Leads To Fire In North Austin
Blaze caused by cooking food led to $20,000 in damage and the displacement of the tenant at 5007 Lynwood St.
AUSTIN, TX — Food left unattended on a stove in North Austin on Sunday night led to $20,000 in damages and displacement of the tenant, fire officials said.
The fire broke out at 5007 Lynwood St. at around 9:30 p.m. After extinguishing the flames, fire officials readily deemed the cause of the blaze was food that had burned on a stove top that was not being tended.
By the time the fire was put out, it caused an estimated $10,000 in structural damage and another $10,000 in destroyed contents. No injuries were reported.
