The attack comes four months after another student was stabbed to death by another student outside the university gymnasium. The campus is still on edge after that seemingly random attack by a student later described as suffering from mental issues who injured others during a rampage while fatally wounded freshman Harrison Brown.
And in April 2016, freshman Haruka Weiser was sexually assaulted and killed while walking back to her dorm room after a night class, putting the entire campus on edge. The dance major was killed along a darkened stretch along a stretch of Waller Creek running through campus by a youth later described as homeless.
