Monday is first registration day for those wanting to sell their wares at annual community celebration.
NORTH AUSTIN-PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- Act pfast, would-be Deutschen Pfest booth vendors: Registration to sell wares at the community party begins Monday.
City officials sent out an advisory Friday alerting to the start of vendor registration for the annual community celebration at Pfluger Park staged the third weekend of May.
The Deutschen Pfest features a carnival, live music, parade and other family-friendly events. It’s arguably the biggest community event of the year providing a range of entertainment while giving a nod to the city’s German ancestry, with featured music, dances, food and beverages suffused with a Deutschland flair.

Yes, this includes polka music. For better or for worse, there will be polka.
A big component of Deutschen Pfest is the May 20 parade, when marching bands, community organizations and local dignitaries march through the center of town.

A children’s version is staged right before the big one, with a shorter route down Main Street. As parade participants, little tykes dress up in costumes, decorate their makeshift floats--their bicycles and/or wagons--while walking down Main Street to cheering throngs.
Ahead of the the community party, there’s an April coloring contest for the kiddos to get them into the Deutschen Pfest spirit. Entrants must be 8 years old or younger as of May 1, and the contest is limited to one entry per person. A “pfree” T-shirt per age category and ice cream will be awarded, city officials said.
