1. Something electrifying is happening in town from March 11-20 during SXSW! "The Volkswagen ID. Buzz, an electric reimagining of the brand's iconic Microbus, will make its first-ever public appearance!" To celebrate, the new vehicle will make several "Buzz Stops" around town as "part of a larger three-year sponsorship agreement among Volkswagen and SXSW." Scott Keogh, president and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America said, "South by Southwest's commitment to innovation and technology, coupled with its access to culture and creativity makes it the perfect venue for the ID. Buzz to make its first-ever public appearance. We're excited to bring the ID. Buzz to Austin and showcase the innovation packed into this newest member of our EV lineup." 2. At approximately 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, a driver "ran into a railroad crossing arm in North Austin" and was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI.) The incident occurred on North Lamar and Airport Boulevard. After the crash, the driver was not willing to cooperate with the police officers, so he "rammed into the barrier while going south on Lamar Boulevard." For more information, go to: (KXAN.com)
