- After last year's historic freeze, the city of Pflugerville is developing new plans to prepare for this year's winter. Assistant City Manager Amy Giannini said, "City staff worked to address many of the challenges faced during the winter storm to be better prepared for future cases of extreme winter weather." Some challenges that were addressed were "communications, utilities and IT failures, facilities, vehicle and Police Department operations." City officials are also working on an "emergency plan" to "compile essential documentation for easy access during a crisis situation." - On Tuesday, Jan. 11, Pflugerville City officials approved a "no-parking zone on 10th Street" as "vehicles parked on the designated section of 10th Street reduce sight distance and create a hazard for drivers." The ordinance was approved by City Council, and they will vote again on Tuesday, Jan. 25. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- Applications are being accepted for the Deutschen Pfest Committee "for one unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2022, and one unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2023." Applicants are required to be registered voters of the city of Pflugerville and have to have lived "within the city limits for at least 12 months preceding appointment." Applications are available at https://www.pflugervilletx.gov/city-government/boards-and-commissions/board-and-commission-applications or citysecretary@pflugervilletx.gov and can be emailed to citysecretary@pflugervilletx.gov once completed.
