Woman Assaulted At North Austin Greenbelt
Police say woman in her 20s had consensual sex with suspect before the man assaulted her along 8300 block of Spicewood Springs Road.
AUSTIN, TX — Police on Wednesday revealed new details related to an aggravated assault of a woman in a North Austin greenbelt.
According to an email from police, a woman in her 20s agreed to meet with the suspect at the greenbelt entrance along the 8300 block of Spicewood Springs Road on Monday, Oct. 7, at around 12:30 p.m. Police said the two walked into the wooded area off the greenbelt path where they proceeded to have consensual sexual intercourse before the suspect assaulted the victim causing non-life threatening injuries.
The victim was able to get away from the suspect, police said, and ran out of the greenbelt to a nearby house where 9-1-1 was called. The identity of the suspect is unknown, but he is described as a white man between five feet, eight inches to six feet tall weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has dark, wavy hair, a large mouth, yellow teeth and a soft voice. The suspect was last seen wearing a black, zippered sweatshirt, black jeans, black tennis shoes and was carrying a black backpack.
