ATM Stolen From Baytown Courthouse

Burglars smashed through the Harris County Courthouse in Baytown to get to an ATM machine inside. It was the third incident in a week.

BAYTOWN, TX — Thieves targeted the second county courthouse for the third time in less than a week an an attempt to steal an ATM machine.

This time, it was the Harris County Precinct 3 courthouse at 701 Baker near Garth Road in Baytown, that was targeted.

Thieves smashed through a glass back door with a pickup early Thursday, and wrapped a heavy chain around the machine and dragged it out of the building.

Police have not said if there was any money in the ATM machine.

On Saturday,and again on Wednesday, burglars used a truck to smash through the Harris County Precinct 2 courthouse building in Pasadena, and got away empty handed both times.

According to a Houston Chronicle report, an ATM machine was recently stolen in a similar break in at the Harris County Precinct 6 courthouse in east Houston.

Police are trying to determine if these burglaries are connected.
