Baby Who Was Taken When Channelview Mom’s Car Stolen, Is Found Safe
Police said car thieves dropped the child off a few blocks from where her mother's car was stolen with her inside.

CHANNELVIEW, TX -- A 1-year old girl has been reunited with her mother after police say she was taken for a ride by the person who stole her mother’s car.
The incident was reported at about 5:40 a,m, Monday in the in the 1000 block of Pennygent Lane in Channelview.
Police said a woman called to report her white Ford Fusion had been stolen with her baby inside the car.

According to Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies, the woman had put her child in her car seat and started her car, and then ran back into her home when she’d realized she’d forgotten something.
While the woman was in her home, someone took her car with the child inside, strapped in her carseat.

About 90 minutes later, a woman who was driving a few blocks from where the car was stolen found the child sitting on a curb in the 15100 block of Elstree Drive, and called police.
The child was reunited with her mother, and was later taken to an area hospital to be checked out to ensure she was not injured.
Investigators believe the car thieves noticed the child in the back and simply dropped her off on the street.
Police are looking for a white Ford Fusion with Texas License Plate JJZ 1085
