Bus Services Could Come Back to Pasadena
Bus services served the city until 2012, when it was discontinued by former Mayor Johnny Isbell

PASADENA, TX — City officials are working on a plan that could ultimately bring bus services to Pasadena.
Officials said the proposed system, which they hope will cover up 70 miles of routes in and around the city, would also connect with Harris County Transit Services and METRO bus services in Houston, if the plan is approved.
Pasadena formerly had a public transportation system that was provided by the Harris County Transit Services, but the agreement was cancelled in 2012 by former Mayor Johnny Isbell, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Isbell ended the agreement because he felt the cost of $226,000 was too high for a service few people used. Want to get daily updates about traffic news and other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Houston Patch morning newsletter.)
Pasadena Mayor Jeff Wagner said the new plan would include four bus routes that would serve low income and high need areas of the city.

The new bus system would operate six days a week and included paratransit and ADA compliant services and primarily funded with Federal Transit Administration funds administered through Harris County Transit Services, KTRK reported.
The city plans to hold public meetings in the fall to discuss route service areas and solicit public input.
Information on the future meetings will posted on the city’s website.
