Houston Police Investigating Cold Case Murder of Pearland Man

Homicide investigators looking for a woman who witnesses said was with the victim before his murder.

HOUSTON, TX -- Police are looking for a woman who may have information related to the shooting death of a Pearland man in November.

Emmett Crawford, 39, was found dead near his SUV at 4020 Dreyfus Street, near Foster Street, about 3:45 a.m. Nov. 1, according to police.

The woman was seen by witnesses in Crawford’s Ford Expedition about 45 minutes before he was killed, according to police investigators.

Officials with the Houston Police Department Homicide Division said that Crawford was in his SUV when he allegedly began arguing with a man and a woman in a gray Honda or Hyundai.

Witnesses told investigators that Crawford and the two in the gray vehicle drove slowly toward St. Augustine Street, and as both drivers stopped side by side at the intersection, and Crawford was shot and killed.

His body was discovered outside of his SUV, police said.

At least one witness reported hearing the gunshots and waking to see a Ford pickup with it’s lights and backing away from the intersection.
