La Marque Man Charged With Murder Of Young Father Of Two
Police said Rodney Stoll tried to run after the shooting started and wa shot multiple times in the back and head.

LA MARQUE, TX — A 26-year old man is charged with murder in the shooting death of a 23-year old man during a gunfight in a La Marque neighborhood street Wednesday morning.
Alphonse Laforet was charged with the murder of Rodney Stoll, and is in the Galveston County Jail with his bond set at $250,000. (Want to get daily updates about traffic news and other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Houston Patch morning newsletter.)
Police were called to a home off Richards Court and FM 1765 at about 12:45 a.m. for a shooting, according to a statement from the La Marque Police Department.

Police arrived and found Stoll dead from multiple gunshots, and later learned that Laforet was at a nearby hospital and had also been shot.

Investigators said Stoll, of Texas City, and Laforet were arguing in the street and that both men were armed with handguns, KPRC reported.
Police said the fight escalated quickly and that both men began shooting at one another.
According to a KTRK report, Stoll tried to run and was shot several times in the back and head, and that Laforet shot him a final time as he laid on the ground.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
