Man Who Survived Cancer Twice, Killed By Allegedly Drunk Driver.
Man who caused the crash, was running from police when he lost control and hit victim's pickup.

BAYTOWN, TX -- A 62-year old man, who friends described as “a good guy,” was killed when his small pickup was hit by another pickup that was driven by a man fleeing from police.
Joseph Laday was trying to leave his home off Highway 146, when a red Chevrolet pickup, driven by Marco Flores, 20, lost control during a short police chase, ran through a white fence and smashed into Laday’s pickup.
Laday, who was a two-time cancer survivor, was trapped inside his pickup and died before first responders could free him.

The accident happened at at about 3 p.m.at the intersection of Texas 146 and Staples Drive.
According to investigators, a Baytown police officer noticed Flores driving erratically, and tried to pull him over.

But instead of pulling over as instructed, Marcos ran and lost control of the pickup he was driving.
Flores, who police say appeared to be intoxicated, was charged with intoxication manslaughter.
Police are awaiting the results from toxicology tests.
