Pasadena Community Remembers Retired Police Chief
Retired Police Chief Paul Cobb was killed with four others in a helicopter crash in Raton, New Mexico on Jan. 17.

PASADENA, TX — Family and friends in the Pasadena community gathered Monday afternoon to pay their respects to former Pasadena Police Chief Paul Cobb who was killed in a helicopter crash in New Mexico earlier this month.
Cobb was the co-pilot of a UH-1 Huey helicopter that crashed outside of Raton, New Mexico on Jan. 17, killing Cobb and four others, and injuring his daughter Andra Cobb, who was able to call for help.

Cobb’s ashes were flown from New Mexico to Ellington Field, where they were escorted to the First Baptist Church in Pasadena.
Before becoming of a Pasadena Police Officer, Cobb flew combat missions in Vietnam, earning a Purple Heart after being wounded on one of those missions.

When he was discharged, he returned to his hometown where he served until his retirement in 2004.
Cobb, 67, was living his retirement in Conroe, when he was killed.
He is survived by his wife Martha, two daughters, a son, and five grandchildren.
