Pasadena Man Accused of Stabbing Man To Death Outside Of Daddy O’s Sports Bar Appears in Court

Suspect was allegedly attacking a woman in the parking lot when another intervened and was stabbed repeatedly

PASADENA, TX -- A man who is accused of stabbing a La Porte man to death outside of a Pasadena Sports Bar on Sunday night, appeared before a judge on Wednesday.

Michael Loya, 25, is charged with murder in the stabbing death of Daniel McClain, 26.

According to police, McClain was watching Sunday Night Football at Daddy O’s Sports Bar on Spencer Highway, when he heard a woman was being assaulted in the parking lot and went outside with a bouncer.

Witnesses said that Loya began stabbing McClain repeatedly in the chest, chest and back.

McClain was a maintenance engineer who had planned to marry his girlfriend soon.

He leaves behind a 3-month-old boy, Charles, and was going to celebrate his son’s 4-month birthday on the Wednesday before Christmas.

Loya was released from jail on $50,000 bond.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help McClain's girlfriend and her son.
