Pasadena Mayoral Candidate Accused Of Tampering With Opponents Signs
Jeff Wagner was photographed on a busy street allegedly removing his opponent's sign on the eve of early voting.

PASADENA, TX — Pasadena mayoral candidate Jeff Wagner could be in a bit of hot water after he was photographed by three witnesses who saw him touching opponent J.R. Moon’s campaign signs on Saturday morning sparking allegations of theft and dirty politics from the Wagner camp.
Wagner a Pasadena city council member, and retired Houston Police detective, and Moon, a local businessman and member of the San Jacinto College Board of Trustees were the top two vote getters in the May 6 mayoral election to replace embattled Mayor Johnny Isbell.
Moon, who came in second to Wagner in the mayoral election, accused Wagner of stealing and destroying his campaign signs, according to a Houston Chronicle report. "I'm truly stunned," Moon told the Houston Chronicle.
Moon said the evidence indicates that this is a continuation of “the same dirty politics that have given Pasadena a bad name.”

Wagner, dismissed claims that he was attempting to steal or destroy Moon’s campaign signs as ridiculous, adding that he felt his campaign signs were unfairly blocking Moon’s signs and intended to move his out of the way, according to a KPRC report.
However, when pressed, Wagner wasn’t able to provide a viable explanation for touching Moon’s signs.
"I have no earthly idea. I wish I had an answer for that. I don't," Wagner said
Early voting for the runoff election, which began May 30 and runs through June 6, could sway voters to reconsider voting for Wagner in the runoff, based on the appearance of impropriety, or Wagner supporters could see it as no more than election propaganda by the Moon camp.
The general runoff election will be held June 10.
