Pasadena Voters Casting Ballots In Early Voting

Seats for mayor and one city council seat are up for grabs, and will be decided June 10

PASADENA, TX — The first week of the early voting period for runoff elections in Pasadena are nearly in the books to elect a new mayor and one of eight city council seats that were up for election this cycle.

Early voting began May 30 and will continue through June 6 with Councilman Jeff Wagner and Pasadena businessman J.R. Moon vying to replace the embattled Mayor Johnny Isbell. The runoff has already had its share of questionable political practices with Wagner accused of touching Moon’s campaign signs on Richey Road, while several involved with local campaigns watched from a local donut shop.

In a Houston Chronicle report, both sides leveled veiled accusations that campaign signs were stolen, though neither Moon nor Wagner have publicly blamed each other.

Meanwhile, candidates for the Council District A, Daniel Vela and Felipe Villarreal are also facing off in the runoff, to replace Ornaldo Ybarra, who was term limited.

Early voting continues through June 6, with the general election held Saturday, June 10.
