PASADENA, TX — Two Schools in the Pasadena Independent School District were placed on lockdown after a man with a gun fired several shots near the campuses Monday afternoon.
The incident was reported at about 3 p.m. when a man who was walking along Preston Street pulled out a gun and fired four or five shots in the air.
Lomax Middle School and Pasadena Memorial High School were locked down after the incident to ensure the safety of all students, KRIV reported.

There were no injuries as a result, KPRC reported.
Police are currently searching a nearby wooded area for the gunman.

Pasadena ISD released a statement saying the students were safe and would be released when police gave the all clear signal.
Students were released from the campuses and allowed to go home at about 4:30 p.m.
Police are still looking for the gunman.
