Police Looking For Former ROTC Instructor Who Allegedly Had Sex With Student
Former teacher faces at least five felony counts on inappropriate behavior that includes sexual assault of a child.

PASADENA, TX -- A former Pasadena ISD ROTC instructor who allegedly had sex, or sent graphic text messages to as many as five different students is still being sought by police, nearly 10 days after charges were filed against him.
Police are looking for Derrick Pipkin, 43, whose last known residence was in La Marque, Texas, after charges were filed against him for allegedly having sex with at least one student, and sending lewd and sexual text messages to several other students while he was an instructor at South Houston High School.
Pasadena ISD police began their investigation after rumors emerged earlier this year that there was inappropriate conduct between an ROTC instructor and a student.

According to court documents, a student provided investigators with evidence of sexual text messages from Pipkin in August that described sexual acts.
Based on this evidence, investigators obtained a warrant for Pipkin’s phone where prosecutors allegedly uncovered more sexually explicit messages, including some with a Pasadena Memorial High School student under the age of 17.

Some of the messages ranged from lewd discussions on sexual positions with students, to sending nude photos of himself to students.
Court documents revealed that Pipkin had sex with at least one of the students.
Investigators said Pipkin exchanged text messages with that student for about six weeks, with some of those tests indicating the teen lost her virginity to the former instructor.
According to police, Pipkin admitted to one of the students in a text message of knowing what he was doing was wrong, and that they had to be careful about her parents finding out.
Pipkin, who resigned from his position at South Houston High School in November, faces five separate charges, including sexual assault of a child age 14-17, one charge of employing, authorizing, or inducing a child into a sexual performance, and three charges of online solicitation of a minor, according to police.
As of last week, Pipkin has not turned himself into authorities, and police have not been able to find him, so an arrest has not been made.
