South Houston Warehouse Fire Causes Power Outage
A massive warehouse fire caused a transformer to explode leaving hundreds in the dark Thursday morning.

SOUTH HOUSTON, TX — A massive fire destroyed a vacant warehouse and several vehicles on the outskirts of Pasadena late Wednesday evening.
Firefighters were called to the 100 block of Spencer Highway at about 11:30 p.m., when residents in the area reported seeing flames coming from the building.

Firefighters encountered issues with low water pressure, which made it difficult to fight the fire and required assistance from the Houston Fire Department, KPRC reported.
Officials said nearly 400 residents were affected when a transformer exploded as a result of the fire, leaving them without power until 7 a.m. Thursday.

There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
