• National Roller Coaster Museum: Growth Continues with New Hall, Mezzanine, and Events (amusementparkwarehouse.com) — Plainview’s National Roller Coaster Museum is rapidly expanding, adding a large climate-controlled hall, mezzanine, and new entrance that will nearly double its exhibit space. Locals can join special experiences this year, including a nostalgia-themed event July 18 and an after-hours Night at the Museum on October 10, while seeing iconic coaster cars and reclaimed ride pieces up close. 
• PCA foreign exchange student wins songwriting competition (myplainview.com) — A Plainview Classical Academy junior and foreign exchange student has just won the high school division of South Plains College’s annual songwriter competition, showcasing talent nurtured right here in Plainview. She turned deeply personal poems into original songs, performed live in Levelland, and now plans to keep performing, including an upcoming appearance at the Old Settlers Reunion in Floydada.
