Baseball Players Helping Kids with Leukemia

High school baseball players from across North Texas will take the field on Sunday, May 22 using their talent and love of the game to help families with kids battling cancer. After rain washed out the April date, the game was rescheduled for this Sunday, May 22 which happens to be the Frisco Roughriders Strike Out Cancer Night.

The Strike Out Pediatric Leukemia Charity Baseball Game benefits Leukemia Texas and will be held at Riders Field. Each ticket purchased through leukemiatexas.org/special-events/ will sponsor a Buddy the Bear for a leukemia patient in a local hospital. Tickets are $25 each and include admission for the 4:05 p.m. Frisco RoughRiders game against the Corpus Christi Hooks, followed by the charity baseball game at approximately 7:05 p.m.

Seven-year-old Amelia Dammen of Dallas is the Honorary Chair for the Strike Out Pediatric Leukemia Charity Baseball Game. Amelia was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a cancer of the blood and bone marrow, on March 29, 2021.

Riders Field is located at 7300 Roughriders Trail in Frisco.
