City leaders also approved an $841.6 million budget and continue debating public funding for redeveloping The Shops at Willow Bend into a Dallas Stars arena and entertainment district.
   

• Plano homicide suspect fired at officers, DPS says (dallasnews.com) — Plano police are investigating a deadly Sunday night shooting that left a woman fatally wounded in a home on Lakestream Drive, while the suspected gunman later died after a police chase and crash on I-35. Authorities say the victim and suspect had a prior relationship, other family members inside were unharmed, and investigators believe there's no ongoing threat to the public.
   

• Visit Plano wins awards at annual state conference (planomagazine.com) — Plano's tourism office, Visit Plano, just brought home three statewide awards while hosting the Destinations Texas conference at the Marriott at Legacy Town Center. The team highlighted local attractions like Dark Hour Haunted House, Legacy Hall and Haywire, underscoring how hotel tax-funded marketing is working to draw more visitors and business into Plano.
