• Presidio orders flood risk study over planned border wall near levee (star-telegram.com) — Presidio officials have ordered an independent flood risk study after getting few answers from federal agencies about a planned 30-foot border wall on or near the town’s only flood-control levee. With flood season approaching and memories of 2008’s overtopping still fresh, city leaders say they must verify how the project could affect the Presidio Flood Control Project and public safety on both sides of the Rio Grande. 
• Presidio seeks sponsors for Fourth of July celebration (bigbendtimes.com) — Presidio is gearing up for its annual Fourth of July celebration and is asking local businesses and residents to help sponsor fireworks and entertainment. The event will run July 4 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Presidio Aquatic Center, with City Administrator Pablo Rodriguez coordinating sponsorships.
• Presidio ISD student wins first place in statewide rural art contest (bigbendtimes.com) — A Presidio ISD middle schooler, Esteban Baeza, just took first place in a statewide rural art contest, showcasing the spirit and pride of the Presidio community. His winning piece will be displayed at the Texas Rural Education Association conference, bringing attention to the talent and hard work of local students.
