• Police Special Response Team gets new ride (princetonherald.com) — Princeton’s Police Special Response Team has added a heavily armored Terradyne Gurkha vehicle, funded through sales tax revenue approved by City Council and the Princeton Community Development Corporation. Officials say it’s already been used on calls, improves officer and resident safety, and replaces an impractical surplus MRAP previously obtained from Wylie Police.
   

• Outer Loop plans move forward (princetonherald.com) — Collin County’s Outer Loop study is nearing completion, and officials are also examining a possible new north–south freeway between Princeton and State Highway 121 that could reshape future traffic and growth. With a preferred alignment chosen for nearby segments and right-of-way acquisition next, Princeton-area residents should watch evolving maps and timelines that may affect property and travel.
   

• Kroger Breaks Ground on Its First New Houston-Area Store in a Decade, a $41 Million Hockley Marketplace Opening in Early 2028 (foodworldnews.com) — Kroger’s new $41 million Marketplace in Hockley signals a broader Texas expansion that also includes planned Marketplace groundbreakings in North Texas communities like Princeton, McKinney, Crandall and Fate. While the Hockley store opens in 2028, the chain’s 110-store growth plan could eventually bring more shopping and job options closer to Princeton residents.
