• Pa. animal shelters take in 50+ dogs from controversial Texas shelter (pennlive.com) — Rockdale residents should know that more than 50 dogs were voluntarily surrendered from Dogtown Ranch Sanctuary Rescue and Rehab in Rockdale after coordination with the Milam County Sheriff's Office and a Pennsylvania SPCA. The animals have been transported to Pennsylvania for medical care, quarantine, and eventual adoption, while local law enforcement says it will keep monitoring conditions at the Rockdale facility.
