1 Dead In Fatal Round Rock Wreck

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS — A person died in a crash along Interstate 35 on Thursday afternoon, police confirmed.

The wreck occurred at around 4 p.m. along the northbound lanes of the highway near the U.S. 79 exit, according to police. The victim's car is said to have struck a wall before coming to a rest in the median. Police released no further details, so it's what may have caused the wreck, along with the age and gender of the victim, are unknown at this time.

The roadway was closed for some time to accommodate the crash before the artery was reopened to traffic.

The Round Rock wreck involved just the one vehicle, unlike another fatal wreck in Pflugerville on the same day that also left a person dead. That wreck along SH 130 involved three large trucks and an equal number of passenger vehicles, police said.
