Attendance Record Broken At Round Rock Back To School Bash

Annual event at Dell Diamond to welcome kids back to class drew 13,000 attendees — breaking last year's record of 11,000.

ROUND ROCK, TX — The annual Round Rock Back to School Celebration staged on Sunday was a big hit, with 13,000 attendees — breaking last year's record of 11,000, officials said.

Every year, the Round Rock Police Department teams up with Round Rock ISD in staging the event. Free school supplies are doled out, and a whirlwind of children's activities were featured. Live music and dance performances also were showcased during the annual event that took place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dell Diamond ahead of the beginning of the semester on Aug. 15.

Representatives from the Round Rock Police Department, Round Rock Police Foundation, Round Rock ISD, Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation and the Round Rock Express were on hand to greet the hordes of kids eager to participate in the fun.
