City Makes Top 20 List Of Cities Getting Most Sales Tax Allocations

Round Rock saw a nearly 5 percent drop from last year, but still posted strong enough sales tax revenue to ensure the 15th slot.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- Fast-growing Round Rock made the list of the top 20 cities statewide receiving the most local sales tax allocations for February, joining the ranks of much larger cities such as San Antonio, Dallas, Austin and Fort Worth.

The city got $6.6 million for the current period, down 4.68 percent from last year’s comparable period yet still strong enough to keep it in the top 20 rankings.

To date, the city’s 2016 allocations to date are $11.9 million, a 3.56 percent drop during the same time last year when it reaped $12.4 million.
