Coronavirus: Williamson County Illness Count Grows To 110
Seven more cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Williamson County from the previous day, and officials note 55 have recovered.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Seven new cases of coronavirus were positively confirmed in Williamson County for a total to date of 110, health officials said on Friday.
In providing the update illness count, health officials noted that 55 people have recovered from the illness in the county. To date, four people have succumbed to the illness.
The uptick in illness comes one day after the county exceeded the grim milestone of 100 confirmed coronavirus cases. Health officials on Thursday confirmed the emergence of six new coronavirus cases for the region, bringing the total to 103.

Comparing the two updates yields a measure of hope even amid the higher counts of illness. On Thursday, health officials made a point to note 49 people have since recovered from illness — a total that increased to 55 by the update on Friday.

Williamson County and Cities Health Department officials update the illness count daily on a dashboard at www.wcchd.org/COVID-19/dashboard.php. Cases in "Other cities in Williamson County" column are a combined total that include cities with populations below 20,000 and unincorporated Williamson to protect the privacy of residents.
Those with symptoms of respiratory illness — including cough, fever and shortness of breath — are urged to contact their health care providers. It is important to call ahead before arriving at a clinic, urgent care or emergency department to avoid potential spread.
