Man Charged With Pointing Loaded Gun At Round Rock Driver

Noah Duecker, 23, is the third motorist in recent weeks to brandish a handgun while in throes of road rage on Round Rock roadways.

ROUND ROCK, TX — A Round Rock man was arrested earlier this week after allegedly pointing a loaded shotgun at another driver, according to a newly released affidavit.

According to Williamson County Jail records, Noah Duecker, 23, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. That's a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

The victim told police he made a right turn onto an Interstate 35 frontage road from Picadilly Drive in Round Rock on Wednesday before noticing a truck tailgating his vehicle, the Austin American-Statesman reported, referencing an affidavit. The tailgating continued after the other driver turned right on Greenlawn Boulevard, the victim said, adding that Duecker then pulled his vehicle in front of the victim's car while decelerating.

The victim told police he tried driving around Duecker's vehicle before being blocked. The victim and his passenger said that's when Duecker pointed a gun at them, according to the affidavit. The victim safely followed Duecker while alerting police as to his whereabouts, according to the report.

Police caught up with the suspect and found a loaded, 12-gauge shotgun with modified stock inside his vehicle. The stock had been altered to allow holding the shotgun as one would a pistol, according to the report.

The incident marks the third time in recent weeks a firearm has been displayed in a case of road rage in Round Rock:

  • On Oct. 14, a China Spring, Texas, man was arrested after being accused of pointing a gun at passengers in another car — among them a 12-year-old girl. Police said Ricky Robinson, 54, brandished a gun outside his pickup truck window while traveling along the 4000 block of Interstate 35 in Round Rock. Police found a .45 automatic Colt pistol wrapped in a towel inside his vehicle. Robinson was booked into Williamson County Jail with a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon before bonding out on a $25,000 bail.
  • And on Sept. 22, Christoper Orvis, 39, was arrested after being accused of pointing a gun at another driver while traveling on Interstate 35. A Round Rock resident, Orvis was tracked down by police who found a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic pistol in his vehicle along with a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a .22 caliber rifle and some ecstasy, according to deputies. Orvis denied pointing a gun at the other driver, but was booked into Williamson County Jail before bonding out on a $75,000 bail. He, too, faces a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

In June, another driver was arrested after being accused of taking a bat to another driver's vehicle in Round Rock. That incident took place at a red light at the intersection of the northbound frontage road of I-35 and East Old Settlers Boulevard. Anthony Hubbard, 37, is accused of exiting his vehicle and smashing the window of another vehicle with a baseball bat.

When police located Hubbard at the 400 block of University Boulevard, he was bleeding from fresh cuts on his fingers, according to an affidavit. Hubbard was booked into the Williamson County Jail with bail set at $15,000 after being charged with criminal mischief, a state felony punishable by up to two years behind bars.
