Man Suing Round Rock Police Arrested In Galveston

The self-described cop watcher was arrested for filming outside of the Galveston police station.

A man in the middle of a lawsuit with the Round Rock Police Department is back at it, this time being arrested for filming near the police station in Galveston.

The details of 25-year-old Phillip Turner’s latest arrest are extremely similar to to his July 2014 arrest in Round Rock.

A video shot by Turner’s friend David, but shared on Turner’s YouTube channel, shows Galveston police officers asking Turner to identify himself. Like he did in Round Rock, Turner refuses and asks if he is under arrest. After police tell him he was acting suspicious and capturing video of police license plates they handcuff Turner, turn off his camera and place him in a squad car.

β€œHe never gave us any answer about why he was filming our Galveston station,” police spokesman Michael Gray, told the Houston Chronicle. Gray said the arresting officer feared Turner might be planning β€œfuture harm.”

Turner was taken to Galveston County Jail where he was processed and later released on bond, reported the Chronicle.
