Michael Craun Tapped As Chief Medical Officer At Round Rock Medical Center
Formerly medical director of trauma services, Craun has more than 40 years of experience practicing trauma and critical care.

ROUND ROCK, TX — St. David's Round Rock Medical Center officials announced the appointment as chief medical officer Michael Craun, a trauma surgeon and certified critical care specialist who began in the position at the beginning of the year.
In a prepared statement, chief executive officer Deborah Ryle touted Craun's various professional attributes she said make Craun the ideal person to lead as chief medical officer.
“Dr. Craun has more than 40 years of experience practicing trauma and critical care, and has dedicated the last six years as the medical director of trauma services at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center,” Ryle said. “His proven leadership skills will help our medical staff continue to deliver the highest quality of patient care.”

Prior to joining St. David’s Round Rock, Craun served as the medical director of trauma services for the Level I Trauma Center at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple. At Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth and Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco, he developed trauma programs resulting in verification at each hospital by the American College of Surgeons as a Level II Trauma Center.
Craun was formerly medical director of trauma services at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo., a Level I Trauma Center in the Denver metro area. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
