• 2026 election: Central Texas school districts put bonds, tax rates, board positions on the ballot (fox7austin.com) — Round Rock ISD voters will help choose four at-large school board members this November, shaping leadership over budgets, academics, and local campuses. The broader Central Texas ballot also includes major bonds and tax-rate elections that could affect school funding, staff pay, and programs in nearby districts many Round Rock families interact with for work, activities, or moves.
   

• Round Rock dam nearing completion after years of construction (kvue.com) — A nearly mile-long flood-control dam along Lake Creek in Round Rock has reached substantial completion, and officials say it can already reduce water levels during major storms for more than 1,000 nearby homes. Crews are finalizing paperwork, site cleanup, and vegetation, while residents hope the project will ease flood worries, stabilize insurance costs, and improve home values as new floodplain studies move forward.
   

• MTSS: Building Supportive Systems (tepsa.org) — Two Round Rock ISD campus leaders share how they use a Multi-Tiered System of Supports to catch student needs early and coordinate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional help. Their approach emphasizes strong classroom instruction, data-driven collaboration, and purposeful meetings so more local students get the right support at the right time without automatically moving toward special education referrals.
