Pavement Failure Leads To Partial Road Closure
Access to Old Settlers Park rerouted as work crews assess damage.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- A pavement failure over the weekend has prompted the partial closure of the main road leading to Old Settlers Park so work crews can repair it.
A section of Harrell Parkway Road gave way on Sunday at a culvert between the sand volleyball courts and Aten Loop, according to a notice released by city officials. The road runs through Old Settlers Park from U.S. 79 to Old Settlers Boulevard.
Park visitors needing to access the Champion Fields (where baseball and softball is practiced), the Multipurpose Field North, football fields and tennis complex are advised to enter via Old Settlers Boulevard.

The road closure could complicate access to Tuesday’s scheduled 10 a.m. groundbreaking of a long-anticipated, multimillion-dollar sports complex at Old Settlers Park, located at 300 Palm Valley Blvd.
In an email, city spokesman Roger Heaney said those wishing to attend the groundbreaking ceremony should enter off Highway 79.
