Round Rock Teen Among Thousands Stranded After Delta Airlines Mass Flight Cancellations
Nicole Novelle, 17, is stranded in Spain on her first trip abroad to visit a friend.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- A local teenager was among those stranded by a mass cancellation of flights on Tuesday by Delta Airlines.
KXAN-TV reported that Nicole Novelle, 17, was stranded in Spain, where she was visiting a friend. After a computer glitch prompted the cancellation of more than 3,000 Delta flights, she has been unable to get home from her first trip abroad, the station reported.
Worse, she said she and fellow passengers were unceremoniously asked to depart the aircraft that otherwise would've taken her home.

“And they didn’t tell us why," she told the station. "They just said they’re having some technical difficulty.”
The airline offered her vouchers after eight hours of waiting, but her mother booked her on another flight instead. But even that she was questioned about by Delta, she claimed.

“They told me my mom lied to me about me being on the flight,” she said, noting the ticketing agent told her she was supposed to be on the earlier one.
After the ordeal, she's now set to depart Spain on Wednesday afternoon. Or so she hopes.
“I just really want to get home," she told the news station. "But I’m not 100 percent positive that I’m going to.”
