Round Rock Teen Driver Killed Along With Two Passengers Had Drugs In Her Blood System
Travis County Medical Examiner's Office found that June Smith, 18, tested positive for marijuana and cocaine after fatal wreck.

ROUND ROCK, TX — The Round Rock teenager who was killed along with two friends in a traffic wreck last April had cocaine and marijuana in her system, according to a published report.
June Smith, 18, and her two 17-year-old passengers, Isabella Torres and Taylor Mendez, died at the scene on April 1 when the car Smith was driving slammed into a chartered bus at Fall Creek Road and Texas 71, located in western Travis County near Spicewood. All three girls perished at the scene.
Recent autopsy results from the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office revealed that Smith had drugs in her blood at the time of the crash, although ME Keith Pinckard wasn't able to determine at what levels, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

"“It is important to focus on the lives of those three beautiful girls, Smith's mother, Ame Pousson, said in response to the autopsy results, as quoted by the newspaper. "This was a horrible accident and I hope some kind of lesson can come out of this tragedy.”
Texas Department of Public Safety officials attributed the crash to Smith having run a stop sign while driving without headlight as among the contributing factors. The drugs subsequently found in her system could have contributed to the wreck as well, officials determined.

On the night of the wreck, Smith ran into a chartered bus carrying members of the Huston-Tillotson University baseball team traveling back to Austin from New Mexico. No one on the bus was injured, according to reports at the time.
