Search For Discarded Gun In WilCo Prompts Police Response
Sheriff's Office on Wednesday alerted that deputies were seeking a gun that was possibly discarded after a road rage incident.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — The Williamson County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday alerted that deputies were seeking a gun that was possibly discarded after a road rage incident.
Given the search for the firearm, a heavy police presence was seen near the Ranch Road 620/Great Oaks area, the sheriff's office alerted via Twitter at 1:45 p.m.
Despite the robust police response, the sheriff's office assured there was no danger to the public. Any resident who may come across the discarded firearm is asked to call 9-1-1.

It's the second time in less than a week the sheriff's office has alerted the public to a search for a discarded firearm. On Thursday, Dec. 12, the sheriff's office said deputies were looking for a discarded gun near the Teravista neighborhood that was tossed out of a vehicle during a police chase. At the time, officials said the suspect tossed the gun as he fled from police at around 5 .m. before he was caught and placed under custody.
