Upcoming Events Tailored To Meet, Greet Round Rock Police
From 'Coffee with a Cop' to 'National Night Out' to 'Public Safety Day,' September, October offers chances to meet city's finest.

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS β The Round Rock Police Department will be participating in a series of upcoming events yielding a good chance to meet some of the officers keeping your community safe.
- Although details are not yet available, the Public Safety Training Center Media Tour is scheduled Sept. 17th with an open house scheduled two days later. "Stay tuned for more info," police wrote in a press advisory. We'll update as details are made known.
- On Sept. 29, Public Safety Day is scheduled. The free family event will feature demonstrations from fire officials, firefighters and EMS medics The Round Rock SWAT team, Traffic Unit, Crime Scene vehicles, Round Rock Fire engines, Hazmat, a live vehicle extraction, and more exciting public safety vehicles will be made accessible to kids of all ages. Plus, there'll be games, face painting, a photo booth, and more. Moreover, the Round Rock Noon Kiwanis Club will be hosting the 28th Annual Pancake Day inside the Baca Center which can only mean one thing: $5 for all-you-can-eat pancakes! The venue will be the Allen R. Baca, 301 W Bagdad Ave # 2We'll make sure to provide you with details as soon as they are made available.

- National Night Out is scheduled Oct. 2, a citywide block party promoting positive interaction between neighbors and first responders. Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits. - The next night, National Afternoon Out is scheduled Oct. 3 at the Baca Center. This event is tailored to senior citizens whose bedtimes might not allow to hang out all night for National Night Out. The senior version allows the older set to meet with each other and the police toward promoting neighborhood safety.

- Coffee with a Cop is scheduled Oct. 3 at the Lamppost Coffee shop, 1205 Round Rock Ave., offering a way of meeting your neighborhood police officers in a relaxed setting. Residents attending these regular gatherings are able to interact with officers while airing concerns or providing feedback. The next gathering is scheduled Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
