Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector Reminds Residents Property Taxes Due By Month's End
Taxes paid after the due date will have 7 percent worth of penalties and interest tacked onto them, officials said.

ROUND ROCK, TX — A reminder from the Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector's Office: Property owners must pay their taxes in full by January 31 to avoid accruing penalties and interest.
The county's tax assessor/collector said penalty and interest of 7 percent will be added to property taxes not paid by the due date.
“State law requires any 2016 property taxes not paid on or before January 31st to be considered delinquent and must have an additional 7 percent penalty and interest added to the tax bill as of February 1," Larry Gaddes said. "Taxpayers who are not able to pay the full amount by Jan. 31 are encouraged to pay as much as possible so that they accrue as little penalty and interest as possible.”

“Penalties and interest continue to increase and additional attorney’s fees are applied to any remaining balance on delinquent accounts as of July 1," Gaddes said. "If they have a balance remaining in July, taxpayers may come to our office and sign a payout agreement with our tax attorneys. Our goal is to collect property taxes for the jurisdictions that we represent, not to foreclose on delinquent property.”
