• City of Rowlett appoints new interim fire chief amid spat with Rowlett Firefighters Association (wfaa.com) — Rowlett has named retired Temple fire chief Mitchell Randles as interim fire chief, following a tense dispute between city leaders and the Rowlett Firefighters Association over the hiring process. Randles will lead fire and EMS operations and support emergency management while the city restarts its search for a permanent chief, with former interim chief Chris Ensley returning to his assistant chief role.
