1. Angelo State University celebrates abandoned artwork with exhibit (gosanangelo.com) — San Angelo residents can explore a free Angelo State University exhibit of abandoned student artworks now through July 24 in Gallery 193 at the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building on Dena Drive. The show, ā€œL’Abandon d’Oeuvres d’Art,ā€ highlights unfinished or left-behind pieces that reveal the risks, experiments, and unseen effort behind students’ artistic growth.

2. Tom Green County Dumps Downtown TIRZ (sanangelolive.com) — Tom Green County has voted unanimously to pull out of the downtown San Angelo TIRZ, keeping about $1.15 million a year in county coffers instead of sending it to the city-managed revitalization fund. The move won’t dissolve the zone, but it will shrink available grant money for building upgrades and infrastructure along key corridors like Chadbourne and Bryant, even as the city plans to keep participating.
