Here are the top stories today in San Antonio:

  1. U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar recently announced, "that the San Antonio International Airport, Stinson Municipal Airport, and Kelly Field will receive $12,755,389 under the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act." Congressman Cuellar said, "Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, these new grants will deliver good-paying jobs for Texas while making sorely needed renovations to these airfields." In addition, the three airports will also "receive similar funding from the infrastructure law for the next five years, as part the program's airport development."   2. San Antonio's 2022 Martin Luther King (MLK) March has been canceled due to the "surge of omicron cases in and around San Antonio." According to the MLK Commission Board, the MLK March cancellation also includes "a number of activities, vendors and informational booths out at Pittman Sullivan Park" and "all activities traditionally held in front of MLK Academy." MLK Commission Chair Renee Watson said, "Once we remove the stage and everything, we want to utilize the area for vaccination sites, testing, make sure the community knows this is what is important to the MLK Commission and the City of San Antonio...   3. Best Quality Daughter, a popular San Antonio Asian restaurant, "has been named one of the 10 best new restaurants in the country." Jennifer Dobbertin and Quealy Watson opened the restaurant at the "historic Mueller House at the Pearl in late 2020, during the height of the pandemic." Their menu features tasty dishes such as "cashew chicken, shrimp, roast pork shoulder, Taiwanese popcorn fried chicken, and other Asian delicacies."   4. Due to the increase of COVID-19 cases, "with a current seven day moving average of more than 3,100 cases," many events in San Antonio have either been canceled or changed. According to Metro Health, "at this time there is no plan in place to create stricter COVID-19 guidelines" but that could change, depending on hospitalizations and positivity rates." FOX 29 contacted the mayor's office regarding any plans to create stricter guidelines for San Antonio, but unfortunately "the mayor was not available for comment."
