3. 2 San Antonio kids reunite with mother after wandering alone in Nuevo Laredo, Mexican agency says (ksat.com) — Two young San Antonio siblings who were found alone and asking for money in Nuevo Laredo have now been safely reunited with their mother at the Laredo border, Mexican officials say. Tamaulipas state guards took the children to a DIF shelter, which then coordinated with Texas Child Protective Services and the U.S. Consulate to return them home.
4. Raymond Jon Dameron (bluebonnetnews.com) — Family and friends are mourning Raymond Jon Dameron, who was born in San Antonio in 1955 and passed away on August 24 at age 70. 5. Uvalde CISD board names lone finalist for superintendent (ksat.com) — Uvalde's school board has named interim leader Juan Hinojosa as the lone finalist for superintendent, with his contract expected to start Sept. 17 after a required waiting period. Hinojosa previously worked in San Antonio's Harlandale ISD, including as executive director and Harlandale Middle School principal, tying this leadership change to experience in a neighboring district.
